1. The Reference and Its Role
Seal Beach Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning current or past Seal Beach residents. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a city, county, state, federal office, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Lawful Use Rules
Use the reference only for lawful, personal purposes. Neither these pages nor information reached through them may be used to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make an FCRA-regulated decision involving credit, employment, tenant, or insurance matters
- Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
- Interfere with the site's operation or security
3. No Consumer Reports
The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Nothing on these pages or returned by a linked tool is a consumer report, and it may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. Third-Party Destinations
Government portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search providers set their own terms and privacy rules. Seal Beach Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, charges, or handling of submitted information.
5. No Warranties
The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a fact, fee, link, collection, or portal is accurate, complete, current, available, or capable of returning a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or an outside resource, including a decision based on a record found through them.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.
8. Original Material
The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed quotations are welcome. Republishing full pages or copying the material systematically is not permitted.
9. Changes
New terms may be posted here. Continued use after the revised version appears means that the updated terms are accepted.
10. Access Restrictions
Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service, with or without prior notice.
11. Governing Law
California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The records discussed in the reference are subject to the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following, along with exemptions and other confidentiality laws that control the custodian’s response.
12. Severability
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
